The National Japanese American Historical Society will host the “Women Making Art, A Hands-On Workshop With Holly Calica” from 1 to 4 p.m. at the NJAHS Peace Gallery 1684 Post St. in S.F.’s Japantown. Participants can share a handmade item from their ancestors from which they draw inspiration. Holly Calica, a cultural worker, teacher, activist, dancer, poet and artist, will provide some drawing, painting and beading materials, but participants are asked to bring special art materials that they might need.
