TAKAHASHI, EDWIN NOBORU, entered into rest November 25, 2009 in Richmond, Calif. He was born on June 17, 1929 in San Francisco.

In 1942, Edwin was interned with his family in Topaz, Utah. Upon his return, he graduated from Lowell High School in San Francisco. He married in 1952 shortly before his induction into the US Army where he served honorably for eight years, including two years in Korea where he was assigned to the 521st Military Intelligence Co. He received his baccalaureate degree from UC Berkeley in 1956.

Edwin worked over 30 years as a sales rep for several gift importers. He enjoyed fishing, poker and fast horses. He was also an avid bowler and had many friends with the Go-go Bowlers. Edwin once bowled a perfect 300 game. He shared his love of bowling with his grandchildren.

Edwin is survived by his wife of 57 years Mayumi, their children Dennis (Lyniel) of Richmond, Larry (Nancy) of Redondo Beach, Michele Smithers (James) of Dixon, and Jesse (Jane) of San Jose, grandchildren Terra, Neal, Tyler, Nicholas and Noelle, sisters Kiyo Takahashi of El Cerrito and Tomiko Sasaki of San Francisco, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Shigeharu.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 5 at 1 p.m., with a viewing beginning at 10 a.m. at Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Colusa Ave. El Cerrito, CA 94530.
