SUZUKI, SEDA SHIZUKO, 97, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2010 in Berkeley, Calif. She was born on October 28, 1912, in Colorado, where she grew up on a farm.
In 1934, she married Lester Suzuki, whom she met while he was attending seminary in Denver. She graciously served as a pastor’s wife for over 42 years, touching the lives of many with her kindness and thoughtfulness.
She is survived by her daughters Irene (Marsh) Tekawa, Janet Brockmann and Carol Marisa, grandchildren Gregory (Margie) Suzuki, Cheryl (Kevin) Tekawa-Pon and Mikko Asaki, great-grandchildren Stefanie and Kimberly Suzuki and Justin and Ethan Tekawa-Pon, and a sister, brother and two sisters-in-law in Colorado.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the Berkeley Methodist United Church, 1710 Carleton St. Berkeley, CA 94703.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Berkeley Methodist United Church and animal welfare organizations.
