OKADA, FLORENCE K, 85, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2010 with her family by her side.
Florence was born in Oakland, Calif. and graduated from Alameda High School. After graduation she attended Cosmetology College in Oakland. Florence worked in the Department of Environmental Health and Safety, University of California at Berkeley for 34 years. She will be remembered for her integrity, generosity, spirit and love for her family.
Florence is survived by her children Dianne (Sam) Okada, Denice (Steven) Nakano, Doreen (David) Hamahashi, Karen Okada, Steven Okada, Carrie (Cole) Yoshida, grandsons Brent and Ryan Hamahashi, Grant and Brad Nakano, sister Irene (Edward) Fujimoto, nephews Brian and Kevin Fujimoto and many cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, March 14 at 3 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, 1 Lawson Road, Kensington, CA 94707.
