Nichi Bei Foundation Day was held on Sept. 6, Labor Day, at the Oakland Coliseum. The game featured the Oakland A’s facing down the Seattle Mariners. Pre-game festivities included grilled hot dogs, soda, Sapporo beer and a raffle of autographed Kurt Suzuki memorabilia, incuding autographed baseballs, and one of his game-used bats. Masanori Murakami autographed bobblehead dolls were also given away.
The event helped raise funds in order to keep the Japanese American community connected, informed and empowered.
