YATABE, JOSEPH, age 87, born June 8, 1923 in Sebastopol, Calif., passed away on March 13, 2011. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Ayako, sons Steve (Cathy), Mike and Dave (Debbie) and daughter, Darlene (Marvin) Wong. Also leaves 7 grandchildren, Eric, Stephanie and Jessica Yatabe, Melissa and Melanie Wong, Jennifer and Keith Yatabe, and 4 sisters, Tomoko Kawamoto, Hannah Yasuda, Alice (Tets) Fujikawa and Grace (Joe) Goto. A memorial service will be held on Sat., April 9th at 1 p.m. at the Berkeley Higashi Honganji Church. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Berkeley Higashi Honganji are requested.
