INOUYE, YOSHIHIKO, 86, of El Cerrito passed away peacefully on April 21, 2011.
Born March 22, 1925 on Mandeville Island in the San Joaquin Delta to Hanji and Minoe Inouye, Yosh was raised in Stockton, Calif. He attended UC Berkeley and retired as a microbiologist for the state of California’s Public Health Department in Berkeley in 1986. Yosh enjoyed bowling, poker, fishing and spending time with his family and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Lillian, Yosh is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Gary) Kitagawa of El Cerrito and son, Grant (Evelyn) Inouye of San Jose; grandchildren Kyle and Akemi Kitagawa, Katelyn Inouye and Sherri Revives; sisters, Florence Tomie Shima, Tokie Takemura and Fusae Tanaka of Stockton, Kazuko Yamauchi Ross of Spokane; sisters-in-law, Aiko Inouye of Los Angeles, Mary Uyeda of Stockton and Janice (Yukio) Hibino of Gardena; and many nieces and nephews. Yosh is predeceased by siblings, Yoshitaka, Koichi and Kayoko Inouye.
At his request, services will be private.
