YAMAMOTO, SHIGERU, 92, a longtime resident of Oakland, died peacefully at an assisted living home in Castro Valley March 31. 2011.

He was born April 21, 1918, in Sacramento and moved to Hiroshima as a boy. Mr. Yamamoto is survived by his wife Natsuko Nancy, son Alan, son Bruce and his wife Cindy, granddaughter Nicole, and son Kenneth’s life partner Bobbie. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Kenneth.

A memorial service will be held April 16 at 11 a.m. at the Buddhist Church of Oakland.
