NODA, KENJI passed away in Fresno, Calif. at the age of 87. He was born on April 23, 1924 and died August 27, 2011. Kenji grew up in Selma, Calif. until 1942 when his family was sent to Gila River concentration camp. During WWII, he served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Italy. After a 2nd tour of duty with the Army, he returned to civilian life but re-enlisted with the Air Force and served until 1971. While stationed in Japan, he became a devout follower of the Soka Gakkai Buddhist Religion.
Predeceased by his wife Hiroko; parents, Tadahiko and Chika Noda; brothers, Satoru and Masaru; and sister, Haruko Yamamoto. Survived by son, Keni (Debbie), sisters, Yo Misaki and Sally Osaki (Wayne) and sister-in-law Michiye Noda. Services at Page Funeral Chapel in Selma on Sept. 10 at 11 a.m. Donations in his name may be made to charity of your choice.
