TAKAHASHI, YOSHIKO “YOIE” KATAYANAGI passed away peacefully with family by her side in Moraga, CA on February 3, 2012.  She was 91 years old.

Yoshiko was born on February 18, 1920 in Berkeley, the daughter of the late Seisaku and Tokuko Katayanagi of Richmond.  She was a graduate of Richmond High. She was an active member of Sycamore Congregational Church of El Cerrito and involved in many church activities. The White Elephant and Annual Bazaar were two of her favorite events, and she could usually be found at the plant booth as she loved being surrounded by all the beautiful plants and flowers.

She is survived by her children Ron (Penny) of Fountain Valley, CA, Laird (Barb) of Maple Valley, WA, Robin (Jeff McGuire) of Orinda, CA, and Rick of Alameda, CA. She was the sister of Toshiko Egashira of El Cerrito, CA and of the late Ken, Takeshi and Dick Katayanagi. She had 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service at Sunset View Cemetery, 101 Colusa Ave. in El Cerrito on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a gathering for family and friends.
