KOYAMA, TOSHIO TOM passed away on May 4, 2012, due to complications from a stroke suffered in September 2011.
Tom was born April 15, 1923 and lived his entire life, with the exception of internment in Tulelake, Calif. and Heart Mountain Wyo. during WWII, in Granite Bay Calif. (known as Loomis at the time of his birth and later Roseville). A fruit farmer his entire life, he and his brother George ran Sunny Slope Orchard until George’s death in 1972. Tom continued to farm the orchard by himself until he retired in 1999. Although retired, he still worked daily to help maintain the family property until the day of his stroke.
He will be missed by brothers Ben (the late Kikue), Kay (Eleanor) and his many nieces, nephews and their children. Tom was preceded in death by his brothers and sister-in-laws Norman (Kiyo) and George (Annie).
A memorial service will be held at Lambert’s Funeral Home, Roseville, CA on May 21, 2012 at noon.
