SJ: “Creatifying Japantown: Envisioning and Mapping a Vibrant 21st Century Community”

The Japanese American Museum of San Jose (JAMsj) will host “Creatifying Japantown: Envisioning and Mapping a Vibrant 21st Century Community” from 3 to 4 p.m. at the museum, 535 North Fifth St. in Japantown. San Jose State University students created the thematic maps, which depict contemporary Japantown. The series examines “the unique contemporary elements of Japantown and where this special neighborhood might be headed in the future.” Students will give a brief presentation on each map. The event will include opportunities for interaction with community members regarding the continued development of the maps.
