Diane Haruko Hayashida

HAYASHIDA, DIANE HARUKO, born in Hoten, Manchuria on May 9, 1930, entered Nirvana on June 23, 2012. Diane attended school in Tsu city, Japan and immigrated to the United States in 1951. She settled in Sacramento and worked at Tom’s Coffee Shop, Governor’s Grill and Edward’s Drapery. During that time, she met the love of her life, Art. They were married in 1956, remained in Sacramento, raised four children, and were together for over 55 years. Her children include Michael (wife Joann), Rickey (wife Cindi), David, & Kathy. She was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Samantha Williams, Bryan Hayashida, Mario Hayashida, Kosei Hayashida, Bryce Mar & Brianna Mar. Diane was very artistic & loved everything about Japanese culture. She was a talented seamstress & floral arranger. As an instructor, she taught Omotesenke tea ceremony & Ikenobo floral arranging. One of her greatest joys was traveling to Japan for inspiration & a little shopping. A private funeral was held on Sunday, July 8, 2012. Memorials can be made to the Sacramento Buddhist Church, 2401 Riverside Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95818. Arranged by George L. Klumpp Chapel of Flowers.
