ONISHI, KEN passed away peacefully on July 22, 2012 at the age of 86, surrounded by his family, wife, Kay; children, Gail (Bob) Mametsuka, Kerry (Richard) Untalan, Keith Onishi, Shelly (Paul) Iwamasa; and all of his grandchildren, Nina and Drew Mametsuka, Zack, Chad and Troy Untalan and Cole, Owen and Tai Iwamasa; a comforting and loving ending to a man who gave so much to his family.
Ken was born in Hollister, Calif., grew up in Fresno and moved to San Francisco in 1955 where he opened a Laundromat business. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 20 years until his retirement.
He was a friend to everyone. He loved playing cards and was a big fan of the Giants and the 49ers. He supported JCCCNC, Kimochi Inc. and the Pine United Methodist Church. Donations may be made to any of the three organizations in his memory. A private memorial service was held on Friday, July 27, 2012.
