Flora Tomiko Umene
UMENE, FLORA TOMIKO, 84, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2014. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Sacramento but lived and worked in Richmond for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Shingo Umene.
She is survived by daughters Sharon Umene and Nancy (Ernie) Chan, grandchildren Jason and Patti Chan. She is also survived by siblings Paul T. Nomura, Grace (Nick) Mitsui, and Lily Kiyasu as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Hilda (Kuwada), Martha (Moriyama), and Alice (Morita).
She will be fondly remembered by those who knew her as a kind and giving person.
The family would like to thank the staff of Trinity Care Home and Hospice of the East Bay for their compassion and care during her final days.
Private services were held at Sunset View Cemetery in El Cerrito. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to J-Sei or a charity of your choice.
