KAJIWARA, SACHI, 91, of Oakland, Calif., passed away peacefully on August 1, 2014 at Piedmont Gardens in Oakland. Sachi was the 4th of 4 children of Chiyo and Yujio Kajiwara, following sister, Amy Maniwa, brother Nobuo, and sister Michi Masunaga. She grew up in and went to school in Oakland and then went to UC Berkeley where she had to withdraw because of the war.

She later attended nursing school and worked for many years at Children’s Hospital and later at VA Hospital. She was active at Lake Park Church in Oakland and the National Methodist Church. Sachi is survived by six nephews- Chiyo, Tets and Kaz Maniwa and Leslie, Kenny and Gary Masunaga. Memorial donations can be made to Lake Park Methodist Church in Oakland.
