TOMITA, KIKUE HATAMIYA, 95, passed away March 2, 2015. She was born Sept. 7, 1919 and raised in Marysville, Calif., where she was graduated from Yuba College. In 1941 she married Tad Tomita. During WWII, she and Tad were sent to Tule Lake, Calif. Kikue was relocated to Amache, Colo., while Tad, under the sponsorship of the Quakers, moved to Pennsylvania. After he was settled, Kikue and their infant son, Stanley, joined him.
In 1956 the family moved to Puerto Rico for 2.5 years, then returned to San Jose where Kikue lived for the remainder of her life.
She was the proud mother of Stanley (Margaret) and Craig Tomita, Twila (Andy) Noguchi, granddaughters Kristin (Jason) Murai and Annie Kim Noguchi, great grandchildren Joseph and Tabitha Murai. She is also survived by three brothers and one of two sisters. Private services were held. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
Kikue was independent and active until recent health problems led to her death at 95.
