IWAMASA, HAROLD HIROSHI, 87, of Hilo, HI, died at home in Hilo, Hawaii on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in San Francisco, CA and was the retired owner of the Iwamasa Building in San Francisco where he lived until 2003. During his long and active life in San Francisco, he was a business and community leader in Japantown. He was a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin and the Pomaikai Senior Club in Hilo where he enjoyed playing mahjong, hanafuda and was an active member of their ukulele band.

Private family services were held in Hilo and San Francisco.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Takako, in 2004. He is survived by his daughters, Sharyn (Dennis) Taniguchi of Hilo, HI and Bonnie Mizono of Danville, CA; sons, Ronald (Norene) Iwamasa of Colfax, CA and Andrew Iwamasa of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Satoru Iwamasa of Tokyo, Japan; sisters, Fumiko Murashige of Yanai, Yamaguchi, Japan and Nobuko Kawamura of Oshima, Yamaguchi, Japan. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
