HIRASHIMA, RUBY K., 96, longtime resident of San Francisco, CA, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of June 16, 2015, in Redwood City, CA, with her loving niece Gail holding her hand. Ruby’s long and happy career at Koret of California as a Designer spanned 40 years before her retirement. Ruby was in very good health most of her life due to her love of exercise. She played golf until the age of 94 and then continued her active lifestyle by taking daily walks. Ruby lost her beloved Archie, in 2003, her husband of 67 years, but received much loving care and support from her nieces and nephews, especially Wayne and Gail. She became frail and fatigued during the last six weeks of her life but was kept comfortable with the help of Dignity Health, Home Caregivers, Gail, and finally, Pathways Hospice. She will be greatly missed by her two brothers’ children. She is survived by 9 nieces and nephews, 16 grandnieces and nephews, and 4 great-grandnieces and nephews. There will be a private family service to celebrate her life.
