YAMAMOTO, HARRY NAOTO, 93 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 23 at Ida’s Care Home in San Francisco.
Harry was born on July 23, 1922, in Colusa, CA, the second of six children. He was held at the Topaz and Tule Lake internment camps as a young adult during World War II and later started his own business, Geary Blvd Cleaners, which he operated for more than three decades until his retirement in 1984.
Harry is predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Noriko, who passed away in 2003. He is survived by his sister, Haru Yamamoto; sister-in-law Sachi Yamamoto; and four children,
Karen Kagehiro (Mike), Marty Nakai (Helen), Gary Yamamoto (Janis), and Michael Yamamoto (Marianne); grandchildren Kevin, Trevor, Jeff, Kristy, Torie, Ty, and Michelle; and great-grandchildren Paige, Raiden, Lailah, Xavier, and Sebastian.
A private memorial service was held at Konko Church of San Francisco on Feb. 19.
