SUZUKI, IWAO LEWIS, 95, born November 29, 1920 in Los Angeles, CA and passed away January 24, 2016 in Berkeley, CA. A lifelong peace activist and artist, Lewis is pre-deceased by his wife of 55 years Mary Bonzo Suzuki. Lewis is the dear father of Masao Fred Suzuki (Susan Nakamura) of San Jose and Fumi Louise Suzuki of Berkeley. He is the brother of the late Hisako Oda, late Yukio Suzuki, Tsutomu (Reiko), Fumiko and Kimiko Suzuki of Japan. He passes on his legacy to his grandchildren Maya Daniels (Elijah Chiland), Mei Suzuki, and Sequoya Daniels. During the past six years, Lewis received wonderful care from his family and caregivers Karl Jagbandhansingh, Misayo Baillet, Mitsuko Jackson and others.
Family, friends, colleagues, and the community are invited to a public memorial to be held Saturday, July 9, 2016, 2 to 5 p.m. at the Berkeley Fellowship of the Unitarian Universalists, 1924 Cedar St., Berkeley, CA.
