SATOW, MIDORI, 97, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2016 in Sacramento where she spent the last two years of her life. Born in Lompoc, California on April 7, 1919 she was a resident of San Francisco for over seventy years.
Survived by daughters Nancy (Stan) Ito and Joyce Satow, daughter-in-law Judy Satow, grandchildren Jeff, Taryn, Kamie, Erik and Kimby, great-grandchildren Evan, Kamden, Billy and Landon. Survived also by sister Tsuyako Miyagishima (Ted) and sisters-in-law Lorraine Suzuki, Miyuki Masada, Kikuye Tsuyuki and several nieces, nephews and extended family. Preceded in death by parents Nobuzo and Kiku Suzuki, husband Roy Akira, son Michael, brothers Harry and Yosh and sisters Yayoi Handa and Namie St. John.
Midori enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking, hosting dinners, music, sewing, knitting, socializing with friends, playing mahjong, taking classes at the Golden Gate Park Senior Center, casino trips and Giants games. She was always very thoughtful and generous to everyone and will be greatly missed by family, friends and the many lives she touched.
Memorial service will be held at Buddhist Church of San Francisco on Saturday, July 9th at 11:00 am.
