OBITUARY: Midori Otsuki

OTSUKI, MIDORI, 92, passed away on September 24, 2016.

She was born January 29, 1924, in Oxnard, CA, the second daughter of Jujiro and Hisa Otsuki.

During WWII, she and her family was interned in several relocation centers.

After the war, she and her family relocated to Japan, returning to San Francisco in the late ‘50s.

Midori is survived by her sister Miyoko Lee, her sister-in-law Michiko Otsuki, her nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, grand-nephews, and many friends.

A memorial service celebrating her life and passage to the Pure Land will be held Sunday, November 13, starting at 3:30PM at the San Francisco Buddhist Church, 1881 Pine Street, San Francisco, CA.

A brief reception will follow the service and snacks and refreshments will be served.

In accordance with Midori’s wishes, the family requests attendees do not bring food for the reception.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the San Francisco Buddhist Church, The Buddhist Women’s Association or to any other group of your choice.
