OMORI, SHIGEKO, 96, passed away peacefully at her home on October 12, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband, Yoshiharu. She is survived by her children, Ron (Karen), Linda (Nobuo) and Steven (Linda), a niece and nephews.

Shigeko was born on August 20, 1920 in Vancouver, Canada and immigrated to the U.S. as a young child. Her family settled in San Francisco but, in 1942, they were uprooted from their home and sent to an internment camp at Topaz, Utah.  She married Yoshiharu Omori during the war on May 13,1944. She remained with her mother at Topaz until the war ended in1945. After the war, Shigeko and Yoshiharu settled in San Francisco and raised their family. Shigeko was a devoted wife and mother. She traveled to various destinations around the country and enjoyed donating to casinos in Reno and Lake Tahoe.

In her later years Shigeko loved getting out of the house and taking car rides to any destination, enjoying the sights and sounds during the day and bright lights in the evening. She remained physically active until just a few months before she passed away. A private service was held in November. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
