KIMURA, SEIICHI (SAM), 79, of San Jose, CA passed away on November 11, 2016, after a long illness. Seiichi was born in rural Oakland on September 5, 1937.
At the age of 5, Seiichi and his family were part of the World War II Japanese relocation into concentration camps in Arizona and Wyoming.
He served in the U.S. Naval Reserves where he trained in Avionics. Seiichi worked until retirement as a mechanical engineer for Lockheed Martin.
He loved dancing and traveling. Sam was active in the San Jose Community Gardens program and the McLaughlin Corridor Neighborhood Association. He was a life-long 49er fan.
Seiichi is survived by his wife, Faye Kimura, of San Jose; his sister, Marion of Oakland; and brother, Tom, of Columbia CA. Memorial Services were held at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose on April 1, 2017.
We will miss Sam’s quiet humor, loving spirit and thoughtful comments.
