Rev. Yasunobu Kojima

KOJIMA, REV. YASUNOBU, 82, passed away on September 9, 2017.

Yasunobu was born on January 3, 1935 in Sacramento to Rev. Kumakichi and Chikako Kojima. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tamotsu Abe, sister June Coats and grandson Kieran Kojima-Black. He is survived by wife Yuri; children Rev. Brian (Yumiko) Kojima, Sharon (Lloyd) Gong, Laurie (Ken) Kojima-Black, Jennifer Kojima; grandchildren Bryce, Brett, Brady, and Briana Kojima, Cameren, Jaleen, and Trenton Gong, Finley and Lachlan Kojima-Black, Brandon Ichikawa. Also survived by brothers Touru (May) Kojima, Satoshi (Christine) Kojima and Norio (Dorothy) Kojima plus many nieces and nephews. As a youth, Yasunobu was interned at Tule Lake for three years. He graduated from Sacramento High school and attended Sacramento City College. He served three years in the army and was a programmer for the State of CA. He was the head minister of the Tenrikyo Sacramento Church for 34 years. On October 7, 2017, a viewing will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the Sacramento Memorial Lawn at 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95824. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm.
