A close friend of one of the victims of the Oct. 1 Las Vegas shooting has launched an online fundraiser to support Nicol Kimura’s family.

News outlets have reported that Stephen Paddock shot and killed 58 people attending the Route 91 Harvest country music festival and injured hundreds from his Mandalay Bay hotel room, before taking his own life.

The Associated Press reported that Kimura, 38, was raised in Placentia, Calif.

According to the fundraiser created by Ryan Miller, he attended the festival with Miller and five other friends.

“Nicol’s heart was bigger than most human beings, her spirit was beautiful, her laugh was infectious, and she just had a way of making every time we gathered an awesome one. She made you jealous of how much she loved life. And if you didn’t know her, you missed out on a better life than the one you have,” Miller states in the online post.

The fundraiser states that all of the proceeds will go to Kimura’s family. For more information, visit https://www.gofundme.com/nicol-kimura-memorial-fund.
