The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the 2018 Oscar nominees Jan. 23. The Asian and Pacific Islander nominees include:
• Writing (Original Screenplay): “The Big Sick,” written by Emily V. Gordon and Kumail Nanjiani
• Short Film (Animated): “Negative Space,” Max Porter and Ru Kuwahata
• Documentary (Feature): “Abacus: Small Enough to Jail”
• Animated Feature Film: “The Boss Baby,” Tom McGrath and Ramsey Naito
• Makeup and Hairstyling: “Darkest Hour,” Kazuhiro Tsuji, David Malinowski and Lucy Sibbick
• Music (Original Song): “Remember Me” from “Coco;” Music and Lyric by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
The 90th Academy Awards will take place March 4 at the Dolby Theatre at the Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, Calif, honoring movies released in 2017.
ABC will air the Oscars live at 8 p.m. EST/5 p.m. PST.
