ONO, STANLEY KAZUMI, 79, died from respiratory failure on December 28, 2018. He is survived by wife Junko, son Michael (Norma Bonilla), siblings Gary, Sandi, Victor (Jennifer), Lynda, Guy (Linda) (deceased), Jo Ann (Tim), Judy (Nosuke), Naomi (Allen), Teresa and their families.
Stanley, born January 20, 1939, was a lifelong San Franciscan, active and well known in the Japantown community. He was the oldest child of Sam and Kimiye with whom he spent three of his early years interned in Colorado during WWII. Stanley was a graduate of Washington High School, a proud member of the Imperials car club and served in the US Army. After the service, he married Junko Sugawara from Kuriyama, Japan. Following work and raising son, Michael, Stanley enjoyed many years with Junko as a retiree.
A memorial service will be held at the Buddhist Church of San Francisco, 1881 Pine Street, at 4:00pm, Sunday, January 20, 2019.
