TERAURA, YOSHIKO “YO”, 95, passed away on January 21, 2019.
Yoshiko was born on November 18, 1923, in Oakland, CA. She was a very creative, talented individual who enjoyed sewing, knitting, and crocheting. As a young teenager, she and her family spent several months in Japan where she enjoyed learning the art of Japanese dance.
She and her family were one of the thousands of Japanese Americans sent to internment camps during WWII.
For the majority of her career she worked as a supervisor for Shaklee, a manufacturer of nutritional supplements.
She also liked to try her luck at the casinos playing the penny machines.
She was a very special person who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Teraura is survived by son Richard (Ellie Mizuno) Teraura of San Ramon, son Ralph Teraura of Berkeley, daughter Joyce (Terry) DeMars of Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tadashi Teraura (deceased 12/10/18), parents, Rihachi and Asae Goto, and sisters, Masae Goto and Shizue Nakai.
