ONO, MITSUE, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on Dec 5, 2020 in San Francisco. She was born in San Francisco and raised in Odawara, Japan. Mitsue returned to SF and married Hiroyoshi Ono, where they owned and operated the Goshado Bookstore in Japantown. She was very passionate about Ohara Ikebana and achieved the First Term Master’s Degree in the Ohara school of Ikebana. She enjoyed participating in Ohara workshops and conferences throughout the US and Japan. She loved cooking, sewing and creating Ikebana arrangements.

Mitsue Ono is survived by her daughters, Shirley Miyoko, Julia (Lawrence) Kwock, Margaret (Wayne Sato) Ono, Karen (Greg Yee) Ono and her grandchildren; Stephanie (Alex), Lori (Tommy), Timothy, Michelle, Traci and Trudi Kwock; Nicole and Robert Sato; and Kaitlyn and Ryan Yee. She is also survived by her older sisters Hatsune Oshita in San Mateo and Emiko Inoue in Odawara, Japan and her nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Hiroyoshi Ono and son in law, John Miyoko.
