Following its Jan. 17 announcement of confirmed COVID-19 cases at J-Sei Home, an assisted living facility in Hayward, Calif., two residents have since died, according to Diane Wong, J-Sei’s executive director.
According to Wong’s Jan. 31 e-mail statement, all of J-Sei Home’s staff and residents have tested negative and “sufficient time has passed allowing the Alameda Public Health Department to declare that J-Sei Home is COVID-free and out of quarantine.”
Wong also included an update on the status of vaccinations for the facility’s residents and staff.
She said they had completed the first round of vaccinations for staff and residents two weeks earlier.
“While we are grateful that we have stabilized the situation at J-Sei Home, we are still grieving the loss of our two residents and send our deepest condolences to their family and friends,” Wong said.
