Violet Sumiko (Egawa) Asano

ASANO, VIOLET SUMIKO (EGAWA) was born on September 2, 1934 in San Francisco, CA. She passed away unexpectedly on April 1, 2021 at the age of 86 years old, surrounded by her family. Violet was preceded in death by her father Gintaro Egawa, sister Lily Fukuoka, and her beloved and devoted husband Peter Asano. She is survived by her three sons: Tony (Georgianna), Andy, Alan (Kelly). Also survived by four grandchildren: Erin (Mike), Brian, Darren, and Paige; and three great-granddaughters; Angelina, Julianna, and Kaylena.
Vi’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the sunshine of her life. She enjoyed traveling, cruising, bowling, gambling, babysitting, and cooking. She cherished family gatherings (every birthday, holidays, and family potlucks). If you asked her to bring one dish, she would show up with at least five dishes.
Private family burial will be held at a later date. She will be laid to rest in the family plot at the Japanese cemetery in Colma, CA.
