Dorothy Yuki
YUKI, DOROTHY was born in Watsonville, California. In 1942, Dorothy’s family was sent to the Salinas Assembly Center and later to Poston 1 Japanese internment camp.
After camp, Dorothy finished her senior year at Watsonville. She went to San Francisco where she married her husband. The couple settled in Redwood City and had 6 children. Dorothy worked for over 20 years for the county.
She enjoyed reading, politics and stories about the Japanese American internment. She was a diehard SF Giants fan.
Dorothy enjoyed living in her home and was always surrounded by great friends and neighbors.
She was predeceased by her husband, a sister, brothers and sadly by one son.
She is survived by 2 sisters, 5 children and 4 grandchildren.
Due to the pandemic, limited services were already held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the San Jose Japanese American Museum or the Nichi Bei Weekly newspaper.
