Gary Yoneo Takeoka

Dec. 19, 1962 – Sept. 4, 2022

Surrounded by friends and family with hearts full of love, TAKEOKA, GARY passed peacefully at the age of 59. He was predeceased by his parents, Hoover and Nora Takeoka and was the beloved nephew of Carvin Dowke and Mabel Dowke. Gary possessed a special gift of making and keeping friends. Throughout his life, he would consider these compadres as family. As a native San Franciscan, Gary was very devoted to all Bay Area sports teams. Through his kindness, a countless number of friends were able to witness a 49ers, Giants or Warriors game in person.

In addition, he was an avid golfer and an active member of the Ripple Effect Dragon Boat team. Our lives are better for every moment that we shared with him. He will be greatly missed by many, but his generosity will leave a lasting and positive impact beyond his years on earth.

All are invited to attend a memorial service held at the San Francisco Buddhist Church 1881 Pine Street, SF, CA on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1:00PM. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite charity in his name.
