Police released surveillance video of a man who allegedly kicked and injured an elderly woman on a Muni bus in San Francisco’s Japantown earlier this month.

The video shows the 79-year-old woman boarding the 38 Line coach at Geary Boulevard and Laguna Street at about 11:20 a.m. Dec. 3. The suspect kicks her in the abdomen as he is getting off the bus, with enough force to knock her down.

The woman hit her head on a railing as she fell, and she was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, San Francisco police said.

The suspect got off the bus and left the scene after the attack. Police said he is in his 20s or 30s, about 5 feet 11 inches tall with dark hair and dark facial hair. He was last seen wearing a burgundy hooded sweater and black pants.
