The Rev. Wayne Yokoyama will give a public lecture entitled “Confessions of a D.T. Suzuki Researcher — Or, how I found the skeleton of D.T. Suzuki in the attic” at the Jodo Shinshu Center, 2140 Durant Ave, Berkeley, Calif. at 1 p.m. Yokoyama will describe the discovery of the missing pages to D.T. Suzuki’s “Introduction to the Kyogyoshinsho” a major Pure Land treatise by Shinran Shonin. Aspects of D. T. Suzuki’s Zen life in relation to Shin Buddhist studies will also be shared, presenting evidence of a new Buddhist paradigm emerging in today’s world.
