CC: “Transcendental Vision, Japanese Culture and Contemporary Art” exhibit closes
The Sand City and the Sand City Arts Committee presents “Transcendental Vision, Japanese Culture and Contemporary Art” at The Independent in Sand City, 600 Ortiz Ave. The show offers a subtle depiction of how Japanese ideas have migrated and influenced American Contemporary Art through the work of 12 artists; their work transcends the ancient East-West divide to express a vision of spirituality and the sacredness of everyday things. The show includes ceramics, painting, sculpture, prints, photographs and installations. The exhibit runs Wednesday through Sunday, noon to 7 p.m. Info: (831) 394-6000 or 600ortiz.com.
