Congressional leaders will honor the Japanese American soldiers of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team and the 100th Infantry Battalion, as well as veterans of the Military Intelligence Service (MIS) for their service during World War II. The ceremony will take place at the Emancipation Hall in the Capitol Visitor Center, Washington, D.C. There will also be three additional events in commemoration of the Congressional Gold Medal. On Tues., Nov. 1, there will be a National WWII Memorial event at the Washington Hilton Hotel, 1919 Connecticut Ave., NW, Washington, District of Columbia. The Army chief of staff will present 50 bronze star medals to 100th and 442nd Veterans. On Wed., Nov. 2, there will be a Congressional Gold Medal Gala Dinner to recognize the honorees at the hotel.
