The National Asian American Mental Health Association (NAAPIMHA) and the Asian Pacific Islanders with Disabilities of California (APIDC) will host the first annual “Laughter is the Best Medicine” from 6 to 10 p.m. at George Washington University Betts Auditorium, 800 21st St., NW, Washington, D.C. in room 402. The show starts at 7 p.m. A VIP after party will be held at 10 p.m. Esther Ku, Shecky Wong and Ryo will serve as the evening’s comedians. The event will offer an evening of fun and laughter to help ease pain, and a celebration of life for AAPIs experiencing mental health problems, physical disabilities or both. A free forum will precede the evening from 3 to 4:30 p.m. featuring AAPIs with disabilities sharing their stories. Tickets with VIP after party access are $150, general admission $50 or for students, $30.
