The Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Program and the Smithsonian Latino Center will host a conversation about the history, present and future of Asian and Latino American through cinema and new media from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Freer Gallery of Art (Meyer Auditorium) Jefferson Drive at 12th St. SW Washington, DC 20013 (use Independence Ave. entrance). The free event, “A Different POV: Latino and Asian America in Cinema and New Media,” which is open to the public, will feature Dr. Lisa Nakamura, an Internet scholar at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Dr. Charles Ramirez Berg, a University of Texas at Austin film scholar.
