The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center and Cinefamily present the classic Japanese film series “Katsudo Shashin (Moving Pictures)” with a rare screening of “When a Woman Ascends the Stairs” at the Cinefamily Theatre, 611 North Fairfax Ave., L.A. Directed by the highly influential Mikio Naruse, the film featured the recently deceased Hideko Takamine. Actress Yoko Sugi will be present to discuss her experiences with both Naruse and Takamine.
