The Japanese American National Museum will host a screening of “Mountains That Take Wing – Angela Davis & Yuri Kochiyama,” from 2 to 4 p.m. at the museum, 369 East First Street, in LA. The film, co-directed by C.A. Griffith and H.L.T. Quan, is an award-winning documentary featuring the conversations between two powerful women that span 13 years. The conversations make profound revelations about Davis, an internationally renowned scholar-activist, and Kochiyama, a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. The film is illustrated by rarely-seen photographs and footage of extraordinary speeches and events from the early 1900s to the present. Reservations are required and seating is limited.
