LA: “Speaking Out for Personal Justice” release event

The UCLA Asian American Studies Center (AASC), with the Civil Liberties Public Education Fund, will hold an event to celebrate the release of “Speaking Out for Personal Justice: Site Summaries of Testimonies and Witnesses Registry of the U.S. Commission of Wartime Relocation and Internment of Civilians Hearings, 1981” from 1 to 3 p.m., at the Japanese American Cultural and Community Center will host an event for the release, Saturday, Dec. 10 244 South San Pedro St. (between Second and Third Streets) in LA’s Little Tokyo. Edited by community activist and researcher Aiko Herzig-Yoshinaga and AASC librarian archivist Marjorie Lee, the publication serves as a “resource and reference guide to the 789 oral testimonies presented before the Commission.” Info: (310) 825-2974 mli@aasc.ucla.edu or www.aasc.ucla.edu.
