The Japanese American National Museum will hold a screening of “Gila River and Mama: The Ruth Mix Story” at 2 p.m. at 100 North Central Ave. in L.A.’s Little Tokyo. Claire Mix’s feature length documentary tells the story of a young Caucasian woman who volunteered as a nurse’s aid at the Gila River concentration camp in Arizona. There will be a Q-and-A-format session with Mix after the screening. Program is free with admission. Reservations recommended to rsvp@janm.org or (213) 625-0414 at least 48 hours prior to the event.
