The Japanese American Cultural and Community Center will host “On the Veranda: Japanese Touch to your Holiday Celebration” from 1 to 3 p.m. at its Garden Room, located at 244 South San Pedro St., Suite 505 in LA. Mixed media artist Karen Toda will lecture on the traditions of Japanese decorations and symbols for Oshogatsu, and demonstrate how to make a nengajyo (New Year’s card) and how to wrap holiday gifts using a furoshiki.
