J-Sei will host its 40th anniversary gala at The Pavilion at Scott’s Seafood Grill and Bar, located at 2 Broadway, in Jack London Square, from 6 to 9 p.m. The evening will include a reception, silent auction, dinner and program. Mike Inouye, NBC Bay Area’s weekday morning traffic anchor, will serve as the master of ceremonies. Stan Yogi, co-author of “Wherever There’s A Fight: How Runaway Slaves, Suffragists, Immigrants, Strikers, and Poets Shaped Civil Liberties in California” will serve as the keynote speaker. The Stuart Yasaki Band will provide the entertainment. Individual tickets cost $150. Tables are available for $500 to $5,000. Proceeds will benefit J-Sei, the multicultural and multi-generational organization that has its roots in Nikkei values and culture. Info: (510) 848-3560 or www.j-sei.org.
