Nor Cal: Rakugo and kamikiri performing arts night
The Japan Society of Northern California and Middlebury College Japanese School at Mills will present an evening of rakugo and kamikiri. Three accomplished professional rakugo and kamikiri performers — Yanagiya Sankyo, Hayashiya Niraku, and Ryutei Saryu — will visit Mills College from Japan to introduce these traditional Japanese performing arts to the Japanese School at Mills, as well as the general public. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m., doors open at 7:15 p.m. The performance will be held at Lisser Hall, Mills College, 5000 MacArthur Blvd., Oakland, Calif. This event is free to the public.
