Nor Cal: Sonoma Co JACL annual general meeting and mochi-making session

The Sonoma County chapter of the Japanese American Citizens’ League invites the public to its annual general meeting and mochi-making session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Enmanji Buddhist Temple, 1200 Gravenstein Hwy South, Sebastopol, Calif. Various programs of the Sonoma County JACL will make brief presentations about their activities. Next, there will be a series of cooking demonstrations using mochi in several styles. Guests will learn how to make Kansai-style ozoni with miso, Tokyo-style ozoni, microwave an, manju, okonomiyaki with mochi and more. Local families’ will also share their favorite mochi recipes. Guests are invited to stay for lunch. JACL Sonoma County will provide the main dish and everyone is requested to bring a side dish or dessert to share. This event is free for Sonoma County JACL members and a $5 donation per person is suggested for non-JACL members.
