Nor Cal: Takahashi Youth Ambassador Fellowship Program call

The Japanese Cultural and Community Center of Northern California (JCCCNC) is inviting interested youth to apply for its second annual Takahashi Youth Ambassador Fellowship Program to Japan. The 14-month program culminates with a trip to Japan in the 2013 summer, and is open to eighth through 11th grade students who are interested in learning more about their Nikkei heritage, gaining valuable leadership skills, participating in their community, creating international friendships and experiencing culture through a 10-day trip to Japan, which is tentatively scheduled for July 21 through Aug. 1, 2013. An informational meeting will be held at the JCCCNC, 1840 Sutter. St. in S.F.’s Japantown, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for interested individuals and organization representatives.
